Multisite
Network Security
Network Security manages network-wide enforcement and propagates main-site firewall and hardening templates across a WordPress multisite network. Use it when individual subsite settings should not override central security policy.| Section | Purpose | Guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Sites | Shows visible network sites loaded from the multisite registry. | Use as a quick count and visibility check. |
| Firewall Enforcement | Shows whether site-level firewall settings are overridden by network policy checks. | Enable when every subsite must honor shared firewall rules. |
| Network Lockout | Shows whether blocked visitor IPs are rejected consistently across the whole network. | Enable when attackers should not be able to pivot from one subsite to another. |
| Network Policy | Enforce Firewall Network-Wide, Enforce Hardening Network-Wide, Enable Network Lockout, and Save Network Policy. | Change during a planned window if subsites have different business requirements. |
| Template Propagation | Propagate Firewall, Propagate Hardening, or Propagate Both from the main-site template. | Review main-site policy first — propagation affects every site in the network. |
| Site Inventory | Shows the first 100 sites with Site, Domain, Path, and Registered columns. | Use to verify coverage and spot sites that require manual review. |
