Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: March 10, 2026
Introduction
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before accessing or using securewp.net or the SecureWP Console at console.securewp.net (collectively, the "Site"). By accessing or using any part of the Site or the services offered through it, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or any services offered through it.
The Site and services are owned and operated by SecureWP (referred to in this document as "SecureWP", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the agreement governing your access to and use of the Site and any products or services available through it (collectively, the "Agreement").
The Services
SecureWP provides WordPress security software and services, including the SecureWP WordPress plugin, the SecureWP Console (a centralized management dashboard at console.securewp.net), cloud infrastructure for malware scanning and threat intelligence, Expert Services (professional one-time security engagements), and Managed Services (a fully managed security plan). The features available to you depend on the plan you have purchased, as described at securewp.net/pricing.
Use of Service
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, SecureWP grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the services purchased for the website or websites specified in your order. You may use the services solely to protect and monitor websites that you own or have explicit written authorization to administer.
You must not use the services to scan, test, or monitor websites you do not own or control, attempt to circumvent plan or usage limits through multiple accounts or other means, reverse-engineer proprietary components of the service, or use the services in any way that violates applicable law. The remote website scanner must only be used against websites you own or are explicitly authorized to test.
SecureWP reserves the right to disclose information we discover while performing services if we reasonably suspect that a covered website is involved in illegal activity. In such cases we may disclose relevant information to appropriate authorities as we deem necessary.
Accounts and Teams
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Console account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Enable two-factor authentication to protect your account. Notify us immediately at support@securewp.net if you believe your account has been compromised. SecureWP is not liable for losses resulting from your failure to protect your account credentials.
You may invite team members to your organization in the Console under designated roles. You are responsible for the actions of users you invite and for ensuring they comply with these Terms. Remove team members promptly when their access is no longer appropriate.
Subscriptions and Auto-Renewal
Paid plans (Pro and Managed) are billed annually in advance through our payment processor. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. Cancellation stops future billing but does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period except as described in the Refund Policy below. You can manage and cancel your subscription from the billing page in the Console.
The free plan includes a monthly allotment of Cloud Scan Credits as described at securewp.net/pricing. Credits are allocated at the start of each calendar month and do not carry over to the following month.
Fees and Payment
Payments for services are processed through our third-party payment processor. Payment information you provide is encrypted and submitted directly to the payment processor. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. For details on how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.
All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes. You are responsible for any sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes that apply to your purchase. We will provide at least 30 days notice of material pricing changes to existing subscribers.
Refund Policy
If you are not satisfied with a paid subscription plan, you may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase by contacting our support team. Refunds are not available after 30 days or on renewal charges unless required by applicable law.
Expert Services engagements are one-time purchases. Refund eligibility for Expert Services is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us within 30 days of purchase if you are dissatisfied.
How to submit a refund request
Email support@securewp.net or use the support form in your Console account with the following information:
- Your name and the email address on your account
- Your order number or the affected site URL
- A clear reason for the refund request and any supporting evidence
We will acknowledge your request and respond within 1 to 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed promptly; the time for funds to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider and typically takes 5 to 10 business days.
Common exclusions
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Renewal charges where cancellation was not submitted before the renewal date.
- Expert Services where work has been completed and the service delivered as described.
- Issues caused by actions outside our scope or control, such as the customer reintroducing malware after remediation or a third-party host-level breach.
Expert Services and Managed Services Scope
Expert Services engagements (such as malware cleanup, hardening audits, and firewall setup) are performed by SecureWP security experts. When you provide server credentials such as cPanel login, SSH keys, or FTP access, files and software on your site may be modified, removed, updated, or added as part of recovery, repair, and security hardening. We take care to minimize downtime and preserve functionality, but some changes may be required to secure the site. If your site is blacklisted, we will submit removal requests to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Managed Services include daily automated malware scanning, malware removal at no additional charge when detected, proactive security patching, firewall management, and 24/7 monitoring by an assigned security agent. The scope of Managed Services is as described at securewp.net/managed.
Disclaimer of Warranties and Service Warranty
SecureWP will use commercially reasonable efforts to deliver the services you request. Except where prohibited by law, all services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. SecureWP makes no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. No security tool or service can guarantee that a website will never be compromised. We do not guarantee that scanning will detect every threat, or that every defect caused by an attack can be corrected in every circumstance.
To maintain your Expert Services warranty, you must:
- (A) Follow our remediation and hardening recommendations, and avoid installing pirated or nulled themes and plugins.
- (B) Keep WordPress core, themes, and plugins updated and apply critical security patches promptly.
- (C) Avoid hosting insecure or unmaintained websites on the same hosting account or control panel.
- (D) Refrain from restoring outdated backups that may contain malware without consulting our team first.
- (E) Do not disable or remove security controls we have applied, such as WAF rules or server configuration rules, without consulting us.
What the warranty includes:
- (A) Re-assessing and cleaning the site without additional cleanup fees if reinfection occurs within the warranty period.
- (B) Repairing any remaining backdoors or persistence mechanisms related to the original infection.
- (C) Verifying the site's clean state and conducting follow-up checks to confirm stability.
The warranty period and full conditions are outlined in the service agreement provided at the time of purchase. The warranty is void if the conditions above are not met.

Third-Party Sites and Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. Those sites operate independently and have their own terms and privacy policies. SecureWP is not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites and does not endorse or assume liability for them.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SecureWP, its affiliates, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site or services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SecureWP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business, arising from your use of or inability to use the services. Our total liability for all claims arising from your use of the services shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim or $100 USD. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.
Privacy
Your use of the Site and our services is subject to our Privacy Policy. Please review it carefully to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-Console notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Site and services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
